Professional Experience and Background

In my private practice at Associates in Psychology, I have devoted my career to providing psychological assessment and psychotherapy to individual adolescents and adults and to couples.  I have dedicated myself to helping individuals overcome a variety of psychological and behavioral problems such as depression, anxiety, adjustment to significant life changes, eating disorders, and body image disturbance.  I also have specialized training and expertise in interdisciplinary behavioral medicine. I work closely with other healthcare providers to help individuals cope with various medical problems such as chronic pain, diabetes, and obesity.

In my position at the Bariatric Surgery Program in the Department of General Surgery at The University of Vermont Medical Center, I provide the psychological services to individuals preparing for weight-loss surgery.  I am a member of a number of state and national organizations devoted to advancing the role of psychology in maintaining healthy communities.  I also offer consultation and training to other providers on topics such as, Leveraging Technology in Clinical Practice, Motivational Interviewing in Healthcare, and Feedback Informed Treatment.
